Wuthering Job Advice👰
Jobs 👉Bay Nature Institute, MIT, Ocean Conservancy👈
BIG NEWS ALL! I got a job! Actually, I got two!
I’ve returned to The Objective as a production assistant to help out beefing up the newsletter and social strategy, and I also started yesterday as a content specialist for UT Austin doing comms for the Cockrell School of Engineering! My paychecks are wall-to-wall orange rn.
(If you are a job-hunter that feels some type of way about the news, rest well with the knowledge that UT Austin bennies are so bad I’m having to buy dental on the open market just like the rest of youse.)
Internships & Gigs
In the Bay Area? Check out this fellowship from the Bay Nature Institute.
The MIT Museum (which is a horny combo of art and science, if you’ve never been) is looking for a comms person.
The Ocean Conservancy is looking for a digital content manager. (Remote possible!)
Speaking of da ocean, a really cool gig with the Main Sea Grant.
Passionate about the small things (scientifically speaking)? Apply to be a news editor for SLAC in Menlo Park!
[UK] Chemistry World is looking for a summer science writing intern! (Apply by Feb. 22)
Politico is hiring for a California environment and energy reporter.
Hu$tle Tips
Folks must have got their freelance budgets approved because we got plenty!
What Got Me Through Last Week
I picked up I was a Teenage Slasher on a whim at the library and finished it in 48 hours lmao. If you like books that other people call “slow” or “confusing” and loved Cabin in the Woods I can’t recommend it enough.

Didn’t know you were in Austin! Are you a member of Austin Science Communicators? They have a meetup on Feb 28. Also that sucks about the UT dental benefits…wtf!
